Join this amazing donation challenge in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. This fully supported multi activity adventure holiday crosses the Andes from Cusco to the 'Lost City' of Machu Picchu. Our aim is to get to the best sights in the Sacred Valley literally under our own steam - By bike, raft and on foot! Cusco, with its long and historical past, is a gem of a city and we will visit all the highlights from our well located hotel near the main Plaza de Armas. Time is spent in Cusco to ensure adequate acclimatisation to the high Andes before we take the backroads to various ruins around Cusco and head into the Sacred Valley of the Incas by bike. We continue by raft down the roller coaster grade 2-3 rapids on the Urubamba River before joining our final stage of the trip, a 4 day trek in the Andes. Walk at your own pace through a variety of spectacular landscapes, enjoy the mountain vistas and explore the ruins along the way whilst being well looked after by your trekking crew. Finally after 50km we board the 'Backpacker train' to reach the unforgettable 'Lost City' of Machu Picchu.
Travel dates: April 18th to May 3rd 2009
